Still Cleaning Up

The town is still cleaning up the volcanic ash, and it may take weeks. Bill went out this morning (walked to downtown) to buy some more trash bags to finish cleaning around the house. All the people were wearing masks and were out in the streets cleaning. Every road was blockaded by bags of ash, and it is impossible for cars or taxis to manuever around. All of the businesses and banks were closed yesterday and today. The clean-up continues and life returns to normal slowly......

We read the local paper this morning, and the headlines were, "The Worst Eruption of Tungurahua since 1918." According to the paper, the small towns at the base of the volcano were most affected--5 people were killed, 50 hurt, 60 missing, and close to 3,000 evacuated from their homes. We did not have to be evacuated, but we did get fallout from the ash. During this natural disaster, please pray with us that the Lord will give us opportunities to share the Gospel with others.
