Bananas Everywhere

Ecuador exports more bananas than any other country and has been the top exporter to Europe for more than a decade. The country vies with Costa Rica as the leading exporter to the United States. The next time you go to the grocery store to buy bananas, check the sticker to see if they came from Ecuador.
Everywhere we go, there are trucks loaded full of green bananas and piles of bananas along the road. Most of the bananas are grown in the coast and in the jungle. We use bananas for muffins and breads, batidos (shakes), and last night we had banana splits! Since they export the best bananas, we get the "leftovers", but they are still yummy to eat.
