We are thankful and consider it a blessing for every time that we are able to connect to the internet. There was an interesting article in today's paper entitled, "Market Size Limits Internet Connection". Ecuador is considered a smaller market compared to other countries like Colombia and Chile which have a considerably higher number of internet users. According to the article, only 2% of Ecuador's population own a personal home computer. Although we use a "high speed" connection, another limitation is the infrastucture that is in place.
The majority of the people take advantage of computer access at internet cafes, which are very common and located on almost every corner. The charge for an hour of use at a cafe is very reasonable at $.70-.90 and is very popular with the teens.
At times, we lose our signal and are unable to connect to the Web which can be frustrating. But when we are able to connect to check e-mail, surf, or video-message with our parents--it is something that we do not take for granted.

Bill, it was good to chat with you a while back... it sure seems like a long time since we were able to chat. We pray for you daily here that you will have wisdom in working in the Lord's ministry in Ecuador. Keep up the good fight! - The Sir-man for the fam.
