A Dear Friend

There is a dear friend in our church who is very sick with blood cancer. Thankfully she is not experiencing much pain and the doctors have told her it is just a matter of time. Carolyn has humbly served the Lord as a faithful prayer warrior and Sparks director for over twenty years, and Ashley has enjoyed working with her in Sparks this year. She recently invited us to speak to the Sparks about missions but could not be there because she has been sick. Yesterday we were invited to her house along with others from the church and we sang with her for half an hour. She had a list ready of her favorite hymns including "It is Well with My Soul". We cried and rejoiced with her as we reflected on her life. She is an amazing woman and it was evident once again as she sat on the couch confident and courageous even in the face of death. When we first arrived she told us that she had her "bags" packed and that she was ready to go Home. We thank the Lord for her life and the example that she has been to us throughout the years.
