With Thankful Hearts

With thankful hearts we praise the King of Kings
The mighty God who fills our lives with wonderful things!

Our family moved to Loja more than a year ago,
Apart from our coworkers we didn’t know a single soul
By His grace we’ve seen some wonderful friendships start,
We pray we can one day see them invite Christ into their heart.
Our prayer is that we can study the Bible with them,
That they will put their faith and trust in Christ, and only Him.
We need to be patient, trust God, though the work is slow,
Remembering that we sow the seed and God’s Word will grow.

Laura and Elise (and hopefully soon Joanna, too)
Have been blessed to start studying at a national school,
They’ll soon be speaking Spanish far better than mom and dad,
And to see them with so many new friends makes our hearts glad!

God surprised Cristian this semester in an unexpected way,
An academic scholarship, leaving very little to pay!
We’ve seen the Lord bless with a wonderful circle of friends,
University guys whose hunger seems never to end!
They visit here often, and we wonder what God has in store
As we’ve seen the Lord bring the world right through our front door!

Ashley praises the Lord for His help with college plans,
She’s yielded to God’s will; she’s put her future in His hands.
With a passion and talent for music and photography
She desires to be a blessing and use it all for His glory.

Our bookworm, Laura, is growing fast and getting so tall!
She’s outgoing and joyful and smart and she loves basketball!
Elise is graceful and lovely and stylish and funny!
She loves ballet and her outlook on life is sunny!
Joanna’s so cheerful, her laughter and smiles light the room
And she’s very excited, she’ll be four very soon!

For our blessings and joys and for many wonderful things
