An Orange Like No Other

A couple days ago we went down to the fruit market. We bought some strawberries and watermelon. And then we saw the pile of oranges . . . . One look at the sticker said it all--Satsuma oranges from Peru! We were so excited that we bought 18 ( 6 for $1)! Satsumas are available in the U.S. as well, but I doubt you'll get them for as good a price!

Aaah, the Satsuma is an orange like no other orange. It peels off effortlessly like a tangerine (so you do not smell like an orange all day) and, best of all, it is seedless. The juicy succulent taste of a Satsuma is out of this world.

Tracy's family had the tradition of putting Satsuma oranges in their stockings at Christmas. Her grandmother would bring a box full of them from California. Since we cannot get them here for Christmas, we will just have to fulfill the tradition in April/May. That is fine with us!
