Brrrr, It's Cold!

"Brrrr, it's cold!" is what we said to each other this morning. Elise says, "It's b-b-b-b-freezing!!" It has been raining almost every day for a month and it is "winter" as the nationals say. OK, so we don't get sub-zero temps or snow storms, but it is still c-o-l-d with daytime temperatures in the high 50's and down to the low 40's at night. We have seen snow on the foothills and have had two hailstorms -- very unusual! Check out the Riobamba weather report. The heavy rains have affected flooding on the coast and have caused mudslides closing major roads. We are thankful to have a fireplace in the house; building fires has become a nightly ritual. There is nothing like a fire to warm up the house . . . and what's a fire without roasted marshmallows and s'mores!!
